Prealgebra, First Semester (HMA1541B)

Prealgebra, First Semester is a course that will improve student’s foundational math skills and prepare them for Algebra I. This course is centered on personalized learning. A student will be completing assignments, quizzes, unit and semester reviews, unit tests, and a semester final exam. Content topics include integers, fractions, decimals, rates, ratios, proportions, percents, properties of rational numbers, writing and evaluating expressions and equations.

This course is driven by Knewton’s fully integrated adaptive learning platform (alta). Knewton alta functions just like a 1:1 tutor, introducing personalized instruction, assessment, feedback and remediation while a student completes an assignment. By completing an assignment in alta, students successfully demonstrate their ability to retain, recall and apply concepts for future use. |
