{Illinois Course Code: 18101A002} Equine Science I explores the basic concepts regarding horses, donkeys and mules. The course discusses equine physiology, genetics, reproduction, digestion basic equine health, local, state and national FFA offices and their responsibilities, and expanding your Supervised Agricultural Experience program. Upon completion of this course, students will have the basic knowledge to successfully complete the equine science II course, and explore potential careers in the equine industry.

FFA and SAEP Specific Curriculum

This course includes curriculum related to the Supervised Agriculture Education Program (SAEP) and FFA (formally Future Farmers of America). The course is designed for those student who are in FFA, are planning to become an FFA member, or are in a state that requires SAEP and FFA instruction in order for the student to become an FFA member.
